This World Cancer Day, see the impact we’re having together
World Cancer Day is the one singular initiative under which the entire world can unite together in the fight against the global cancer epidemic. It takes place every year on 4 February.
World Cancer Day aims to save millions of preventable deaths each year by raising awareness and education about cancer, and pressing governments and individuals across the world to take action against the disease
Just as cancer affects everyone in different ways, everyone has the power to take action to reduce the impact that cancer has.
Today, 565 Canadians will hear the words, “You have cancer.” For these people — our friends, loved ones or neighbours — today may be the most challenging day of their lives.
Yet, thanks to you, today also brings hope — because together, we will offer a helping hand, a shoulder to lean on and a promise that no one will face cancer alone.
On any given day, the Canadian Cancer Society funds 300 of the brightest minds who are working on promising research that could change the future of cancer. Close to 2,600 Canadians are volunteering their time to help improve the lives of patients and their families.
We have all lost a Family Member, friend, relative or know someone that has fought Cancer and other that have lost their fight.
This World Cancer Day, join the fight against cancer by getting involved.
